About Me

I’m a research scientist on the policy team at OpenAI, where I’ve worked on topics like responsible AI development, safety via debate, and publication norms in ML. I believe we should try to use our time and money to make the future go well, and I think that working to ensure AI is socially beneficial is one way to do this.

I have a PhD in philosophy from New York University. My thesis was on infinite ethics and my committee members were Cian Dorr, David Chalmers, and Shelly Kagan. I also have a BPhil in philosophy from the University of Oxford, with a thesis on epistemic consequentialism.
